Major Artifact
The Sword of Nightmares.
This short sword is said to have been forged by the dark god Norg. This +5 Keen, Wounding, Short Sword screams when it strikes. After a succesfull hit any foe with in 30ft must make a will save DC 26 or become panicked for 20 rounds.
In addition the sword can cast the following spells
Darkbolt at will *See book of vile darkness)
Deeper Darkness 3/day
Nightmare 1/day *see the spell nightmare for the save DC adjustments
Draw back, the owner of this sword is ravaged by horrible dreams. Each night there is a 10% chance the user suffers the effect of spell nightmare. The DC againts the sword's owner is 30. This is not the save when the spell is used on another.
Elves are not immune to this draw back, the nightmare reaches them even in there trance.
These spells are as if cast by a 20th level caster.
The Undead Slayer
This bright Bastard Sword was forged for but one purpose to destory undead.
The Sword functions as a +5 Ghost touch weapon. However againts undead the sword deals double damage tripple damage on a critical. In addition any undead struck with this weapon must make a fortitude save DC 14 or be destroyed as if disrupted. Any undead brought to 0 hit points or below by this sword is automatically disrupted no saving throw thus undead such as vampires are destoryed on the spot.
Finally once per weak the sword can unleash its most awesome power. Radiating from the sword in a 250 ft burst comes a heightened to 9th level sunburst that does not affect living beings in any way. The Spell deals 25d6 damage to any undead caught in the area. A Reflex save DC 19 halves the damage.
This spell is as if cast by a 25th level caster.
