To the far east of Quel'Shar is the island (or small continent) of Lycanthral.
Capital: None
Population: Esitmated to be 350,000 (werewolf 30%, weretiger 20%, werebear 15%, wereboar 10%, wererat 20%, Other 5%)
Goverment: N/A
Religions: Obd-hai, Ethlonna, Narina, Grog, Kord, Norg.
Exports: Exotic Fruits, Mitherial, Adamantite, Darkwood
Imports: Silk, Spices, weapons, magical items.
Life and Society.
Lycanthral is a dangerous place. Its inhabitants all have one thing in common the gift of lycanthropy. To most it is a curse but for them it is simply an extension of themselves. In the simplist terms they are natural lycanthropes. The tribes laws varey as do there treatment of outsiders (usually unfriendly to hostile) The one law the vast majority are united in is thus. "Only those born with the gift are worthy to have it, never pass on are boon to those not of our blood"
How the infected are treated vary, some are receive pity others are killed. Some are given aid in finding a cure. The penalty for a true lycanthrope who infects another being with Lycanthropy if often death.
The tribes are small almost never numbering over 200. Some are allied some are at war. There are few wizards in lycanthral, and not that many sorcerers. Druids are not uncommon and are the most likly outsider to be welcomed.

Canthar Mine.
The only mine allowed to opperate on Lycanthral is the Canthar mine. It is run and opperated by Lycanthropes themselves. Realizing they can best keep outsiders out by selling them the products they desire. A city of under 5,000 dwarves lives their maintaining the mine and transporting the goods across the sea. As well as bringing goods back to the island to pay the various Lycanthrope tribes.
Regional History.
There are few predatory animals on Lycanthral. Not counting the lycanthropes themselves. Its not known when exactly the Lycanthropes made this place there home. Some sages suspect they appeared here first.
