in nightkord dragson are extreamly rare, this is beacuse of an order of dragon slayers called the dragon hunters.
thosuands of years ago an empire in what is called modern day Gael, started have problems with dragons. the red dragons that would attack the military for fun, or claim land inthe empire as there own. or the vain dragons that would haord wealth while the people of the country were in poverty. eather way these problems lead the people to take up arms agasints all dragons. this order called itself the dragon hunters, and they killed all the dragson in gael. then the branched out to kill the dragons in other lands as well. this order was not tied with the empire they came from, so when the empire fell the order lived on. the order still lives on today, with there goal to kill every dragon to rid the world of there presance one and for all.
in modern day there are realistically no dragons left in nightkord, there may be a few powerful old ones that the dragon hunters could not kill, or there could be some hidden away where the dragon hunters could not find them, eather way dragons are rare to the point where many powerful adventurers have never seen one.
there are still a few dragons that live, that the dragon hunters tried to kill and could not. one of which lives on the island of leweke in the Geldorran mountians. this dragon is refered to as Old Fury, this dragon was the first dragon to not only match the dragon hunters, but drive them away. Old fury served the order of the dragon hunters its first major defeat.
it is unclear what type of dragon Old Fury is, some say that he is a red dragon, others say he is a white dragon, still others say that he is a gold dragon.
but there exist stranger stories that speak of Old Fury as a dragon that came to the meaterial plane from the deepest pit of hell, and that feindish blood corses threw his draconic veins. but the order of the dragon hunters belive that old fury was in fact a copper dragon.
since the defeat by old fury the dragon hunters, have harbored a deep seated hate for old fury, they have yet to attempt another attack on old fury, focusing on weaker prey to sate there vengeful urges.
the Geldorran mountians are named after the army of Geldorran, a shedora that saw his city destroed by monster and took it upon himself to clear the moutians out of monsters, the army of Geldorran meet defeat at the hands of a Anchient dragon named thazelthroth, while it is unknown what relation thazelthroth has to old fury, many belive that Thazelthroth is old furys father, some even belive that thazelthroth is in fact old fury himself, no one has a definate asnwer.
