This is a thread for the creation of new spells. Try and be as detailed as you possibly can so that all of us can help balance them out.

Well, here is my first one.
Spherical Defense Abjuration Level:Sor/Wiz 2 Components:V,S Casting Time:1 standard action Range:Personal Target:You Duration:1 min/level Several spheres of force circle you constantly, protecting you from any and all attacks. The spheres disapear when struck. Spherical Defense creates 1d4 speres plus one sphere per three caster levels (maximum eight spheres). Theses spheres circle around you consantly in motion with you as the center point. They move with you and require no concentration to maintain after creation. Enemies attempting to attack you with melee waepons or attack spells attack normally, however on a successful attack, a spere inttercepts the attack atomatically, absorbing all damage and distroying it afterwards.

Tell me what you think, I based it of off Mirror image, but designed it so that it could be used in a narrow hallway. Of coarse magic missle or a fireball will still hurt you normally.
Feh, like it's all that worth while learning.

I can already tell it is over powered forr a lv 2 spell. you may have tried to base it of mirror image but you did not take into account that your spell automaticaly negates attacks where as mirror image is only a chance (the foe strikes an image rather then you) this is leaning more toward the sickly overpowered old stoneskin spell

ohh old stoneskin, my fav of the sickly overpowered old spells.
i do agree with you that Spherical Defense is a bit on the overpowered side. my reasons for it is it can block attacks, so someone can come up and hit you with a doom attack and you will live, or at highest levels live threw 8 such doom attacks.
