Often times I've come to realize people think the spell is far more powerful then it actually is. Granted a 1d6+5 penalty to strength is alot (or even 1d6+5x1.5 for empowered) However it is easily countered. First as it is a magicial effect with a duration it can be effected by dispel magic. Second look below at the discription for lesser restoration.
"Lesser restoration dispels any magical effects reducing one of the subject’s ability scores or cures 1d4 points of temporary ability damage to one of the subject’s ability scores. It also eliminates any fatigue suffered by the character, and improves an exhausted condition to fatigued. It does not restore permanent ability drain."
So even if Faeline suffers 16 strength penalty from an empowered ray of enfeeblement. A simple potion of lesser restoration will cure it completly. The old ray of enfeeblement may have had a saving throw but it DID deal ability damage. Which is MUCH harder to deal with.
